The information overload problem is becoming a serious issue on the Internet and users are finding it increasingly difficult to quickly locate the right information at the right time. Content personalisation techniques may provide a useful solution by enabling information services to respond to the implicit and explicit preferences of individual users. In this paper we describe an innovative personalised TV listings service (PTV), which has been successfully deployed on a number of Irish Web sites and which has attracted over 15,000 users in the first year of operation.
